Towards a more perfect union

It is, perhaps the most dangerous time in the history of our democracy. Current  illegal actions by the Federal government are a very real threat to our cherished way of life, protected by law, and freedom from abuse. Pepperell, and every town and city in the United States, finds itself fighting to guard our countries values of providing equality for all and  ensuring the best lives for all of our individuals and families.

The Select Board will be discussing  whether or not they will submit a Town Meeting Warrant Article for Spring Town Meeting that will seek to protect the constitutional rights of our citizens and direct ICE agents to conform to Constitutional policing practices when in Pepperell, with the intent to protect citizens from physical harms and denial of rightist. and assist ICE in their lawful pursuit of immigrant criminal activities in Pepperell.

Col. William Prescott, Pepperell patriot and Select Board member in 1765,(p53) on behalf of our town leaders, wrote then to the revolutionary war provisional government that the Town of Pepperell stood prepared to act against the British Parliament for it's abuse of it's taxation powers.  He helped establish a new way of governing in the world, one that has not been surpassed by any others.  I believe we are obligated to stand with him, against the tyranny of this day and age,  that would undo our democracy and return us to the abuses of a king.

Please attend tomorrow's , Wednesday night meeting at 7p.m.in Town Hall or message and advise your Select Board to add this article to the warrant for this Springs town meeting.
